WOG 12.0: Celebrating a Dozen Years of Being the Premier Coached Running Group in Town!

The 2008-2009 season marks a dozen years that the Workout Group has been providing a fun and safe place to get in shape. WOG is available to everyone, from national class runners to some of the slowest folks in town, and everything in between . . . Whether you’re preparing for your first marathon, training for local road races, or simply getting in better shape, WOG features two weekly workouts open to all ages and abilities, as well as weekend social runs. Of course, there’s a long tradition of WOG social nights, and all are invited to adjourn for root beer and cookies at local eateries... Founded by Randy Accetta and Greg Wenneborg, the Workout Group has been providing great running workouts since 1997. Our health and injury prevention affiliates include Dr. Bob Nardone, sports chiropractor (795-5447) and massage therapists Kelli Gaither-Banchoff (323-3302) and Brianna Averil (907-0996). Special WOG discounts at The Running Shop (Campbell, north of Glenn).

Training Groups

On Tuesday and Thursday nights, runners generally self-select into one of three different training groups:

1) Those training for longer races like marathons, half-marathons, or ultra-marathons
2) Those training for local road races
3) Novices to the sport who are learning to jog, training for their first road race, or just having fun
