Running Hotspots

  • Catalina State Park

On Tucson’s NW side at the base of the Catalina Mountains, Catalina State Park offers fairly flat road running and some fantastic trail options.

  • Old Spanish Trail

This 5 mile eastside multi-use path snakes its way from Broadway to Saguaro National Park East.

  • Reid Park

Centrally located park with a lighted, 3-mile multi-use path and a popular 800 meter (half mile) dirt track.

  • Rillito River Path

Following the banks of the mighty Rillito River (almost always dry), the Rillito River Path offers a 10-mile uninterrupted multi-use path.

  • Sabino Canyon

One of Arizona’s most scenic running spots, Sabino Canyon offers both road and trail running options.

  • Saguaro National Park East

This is the site of SAR’s big Labor Day 8 Mile Run. Winding through a forest of saguaros, this 8 mile rollercoaster (lots o’ hills!) loop is not to be missed. Many great trail options as well.
