January Events—plus Early Registration Discounts End Soon
Randy Accetta January 10, 2012Saturday, January 21st is the Seventh Annual SAR Member Recognition Banquet, a wonderful way to start the new year with friends, companions, and colleagues from across the community. Registration ends January 16th—see the SAR website for details.
Sunday, January 22nd sees the season opening race, the Sun Run for Pima Community College Cross Country and Track and Field. Held on a super-fast course at Reid Park in Central Tucson, the Sun Run includes a 5k and 10k option—the 10k is part of the Running Shop Grand Prix. All runners receive a pancake breakfast. The year’s first free Craig Dabler Children’s Dash follows the main races. The early registration discount ends on January 12th—sign up online here or see other registration options here.
On Sunday, January 29th you can test yourself at the Sunrise at Old Tucson 4-mile Trail Run on the dusty streets and horse trails of Old Tucson Studios, on the far west side of the Tucson Mountains. Sunrise is now part of the 2012 Running Shop Grand Prix. Pricing goes up $5 starting on January 15th. All registrants receive free entrance to Old Tucson, free breakfast, and free passes to the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum and the Wildlife Museum.
