Thanks for doing Carondelet Get Moving Tucson!
Randy Accetta October 12, 2009Thanks to all those who came out to the Fifth Annual Carondelet Get Moving Tucson 10-miler and 5k Run/Walk on October 11th! A beautiful Tucson day brought out over 700 runners and walkers who cruised through the streets of Downtown Tucson. For race photos, check out the SAR Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=130199&id=61474501195), and see Lupita Ramirez’s blog at http://blog.solaristucson.com/2009/10/get-moving-tucson.html. Hundreds of great photos are available.
Thanks to our new race partner, Tucson Meet Yourself, the morning was a splendid blend of fitness and culture, with music, dancers, drummers, swordsmen, and, of course, plenty of runners and walkers. Overall winners in the 5k were Eric Chavez and Janet Holland, while Craig Curley won by a comfortable margin in the men’s 10-miler and Tia Accetta took first place in the women’s 10-miler. Fleet Feet provided prizes for the 5k; if you missed your age group award, they will be available at Fleet Feet later in the week. The Running Shop provided prizes for the 10-miler; those awards can be picked up at the Running Shop.
A full list of race results are posted elsewhere on the SAR site. Let us know of any discrepancies. We’ll have a more thorough write-up on Get Moving Tucson soon—in the meantime, start training for the upcoming SAR races, the Great Pumpkin Race, Oracle 10k, CATwalk 10k/5k and the Thanksgiving Cross Country Classic!
