Volunteers Needed for the Cinco de Mayo 10K
Mary Lasser, SAR President April 16, 2011The Cinco de Mayo 10K is coming up soon on May 1, 2011 and we’re looking for Volunteers. It’s a great way to see what goes on behind the scenes at a race and to meet new people. Race participants, friends and family are welcome! Volunteers will receive a Technical Shirt and Hot Breakfast Burrito!

- Food and Beverage Setup (Race Day from 5:30-6:30am) - This involves cutting bagels and fruit and putting beverages on ice. We’ll provide the knives and cutting boards. This is great way to help out before the race if you are running.
- Handing out Burritos, Food and Eegees (Race Day from ~7:30-9:00am)
- Miscellaneous Tasks (Race Day from 5:30-6:30am) - This includes a variety of things like setting up awards, hanging the pinata, hanging banners, filling water jugs, etc.
- Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup (Race Day from 5:30-6:30) - This involves handing out bib numbers to pre-registered participants and registering new people. If you’ve never done it, don’t worry, we’ll teach you what to do.
- Saturday Registration and Packet Pickup at Performance Footwear on Broadway (April 30 from 10:00am-3:00pm) - This involves handing out bib numbers to pre-registered participants, registering new people and handing our goody bags and technical shirts. If you’ve never done it, don’t worry, we’ll teach you what to do. We’d be thrilled to have you help in the morning or afternoon if you can’t be there all day.
- Photographers - If you’re handy with a camera, we’d love to have you take pictures on Race Day.
- Cleanup after the race - This involves things like breaking down equipment, packing up supplies, loading equipment on the truck, picking up garbage, etc.
