Tucson Heart Group Cinco de Mayo 10k

Description
The 30th annual edition of Tucson’s largest and most scenic 10K winds its way through Starr Pass in the foothills of the Tucson Mountains. Run or walk the gorgeous course with beautiful mountain scenery and great views of the Tucson basin.
After the run, join us for a Cinco de Mayo Celebration featuring live music by the Tucson Mariachi Band Luz De Luna!
All participants receive a Technical Shirt, Goody Bag and Post-Race Breakfast featuring hot Breakfast Burritos from El Saguarito Mexican Food, Einstein Bagels, Fruit from the Food Coop, Starbucks Coffee, Beverages from Kalil (7up, Snapple Natural, Deja Blue Water) and more.
Kids will enjoy a Sombrero-Topped Kids Race, Pinata, Jumping Castle and Water Balloon Toss.

Race Distances and Courses
USAT&F Certified 10K (AZ-95003-FC)
2 miles
The paved, USATF Certified 10K out and back road course features rolling hills winding through the Starr Pass Resort in the foothills of the Tucson Mountains. Ends with a 2-mile downhill before finishing in front of Cholla High School. Two water stops.
Baby strollers are welcome on the course. We ask that strollers position themselves at the back of the start and use caution not to block or impede other participants on the course.

Packet Pick-up
Packet Pick-up will take place on Saturday May 1 from 10am-3pm at Performance Footwear located in the Williams Center at 5350 E Broadway, Suite #170. Come to packet pick-up at Performance Footwear to take advantage of these fantastic offers for the Cinco de Mayo participants:

Awards
Individual awards to the top 3 finishers in each 5-year age group as well as awards to overall and masters finishers (male & female.)
Cash awards will be given to the overall and masters winners:
Overall: 1st: $100; 2nd: $75; 3rd: $50
Masters: 1st: $50
This race is part of The Running Shop Grand Prix, produced by SAR.
Wear your oldest “Cinco” tee shirt to the event. The participant who sports the earliest version will receive a cash prize. (Previous winners not eligible.)
Beneficiaries
Proceeds from the event will go towards the following:
* 2 Scholarships for Cholla High School Graduates Pursuing Higher Education
* Donation to Therapeutic Riding of Tucson (TROT)
* Donation to the Arizona Cancer Center (in recognition for Better Than Ever participating in the event)
