The Great Pumpkin Race at Buckalew Farms

Description

The Great Pumpkin Race is set for Saturday, October 23 at the Buckalew Farm just west of Tucson.  This cross-country style 5K races though the Buckalew family farm and includes portions of their wild and crazy corn maze.  In addition to free entry into the farm, participants will also be eligible for great prizes, race day activities like pumpkin carving and kid’s face painting.  The Great Pumpkin race benefits the Hydrocephalus Foundation and Tedy’s Team - Raising Awareness and Fighting Stroke.  This is definitely one race you won’t be ‘scared’ to enter….

Race Distances and Courses

The Great Pumpkin Race is a fun filled, low cost 5k through the Buckalew family farm and their wild and crazy Halloween themed corn maze. The course is a flat, traditional cross-country course along dirt roads and through the corn maze.  Runners of all abilities, from those competing in their first 5k, to those looking for a PR, will enjoy the course.

Registration

  • Packet pick-up & Pre-registration at The Running Shop on Friday, 10/23/09. 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Packet Pick-up and Race-day registration 7:00 – 7:40.

Entry to Buckelew Farms

All race participants receive complimentary entry into Buckalew Farms.  Select your own pumpkin, enjoy crafts and other activities for the entire family.

Awards

We’re excited to offer prizes in multiple age groups making this race a truly family-friendly event.  Thanks to The Running Shop and Tedy’s Team for providing prizes.
Age groups will be 11 and under, 12-14, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84 and 85+
Top three overall and Master’s winner will be taken out of age group awards. All participants are eligible for raffle prizes.

Race Weather

Start-time temperatures are usually near 60 degrees F, clear skies, and no wind. Check out Tucson’s current conditions and forecast so you’ll be race-ready!
