Race Distances and Courses
7.4 mile race:
The out and back 7.4 mile paved course along Sabino Creek crosses nine bridges and provides the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Catalina Mountains as the sun sets against them. The course is uphill on the way into the canyon and downhill on the way back, with aid stations at approximately miles 1.6, 3.7 (turn-around point), and 5.8.
7.4 mile Early-start:
The early-start event will begin 30 minutes prior to the main race entry, providing slower entrants more time to finish before nightfall. Those who enter this event will not be eligible for age-group prizes or Grand Prix points. They will remain eligible for raffle prizes. This event will be timed just like the 7.4 mile race, and the results will be included on the SAR website.
Please, no bicycles, strollers, skateboards, roller-blades, or pets allowed on the course.
1.5 mile Fun Run:
The Fun Run follows the same paved path on the Sabino Canyon tram road. The run is not timed, and awards will not be given. Participants will receive the same t-shirt as the 7.4 mile entrants.
