The Tucson 5000 will be  postponed until the fall. The TENTATIVE date is now 9/13/20.

We are currently looking at dates and will provide a more detailed update as soon as information becomes available. Instead of a Mother's Day Mile, there will be a free FitKidz Mile in association with this event. All persons registered in the mile right now will be switched to the 5k run.

Southern Arizona Roadrunners statement:
Much like our members and those we care about during these uncertain times, the decisions that Southern Arizona Roadrunners and race directors face are not easy ones. In the coming weeks, the potential human and economic toll will, no doubt, be difficult to grasp, but it is our hope that our community understands that our commitment to health and safety is second to none.
Following the current guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), SAR will be canceling or postponing all events for the next 8 weeks. Please understand that we are limited in our ability to reschedule due to the dangers of holding some of these events during the summer heat. We understand that these changes may cause disappointment and/or inconvenience, and we have not made these decisions lightly. Utmost in our considerations is the health and well-being of our community.
We will continue to monitor developments and make decisions based on recommendations from local, state, and federal health authorities. For the most up-to-date information regarding the virus, and how to minimize the risk of infection, please refer to the   U.S. Centers for Disease Control  and   Pima County Health Department .

If you have any questions please contact the Race Director.

Tucson's Fastest 5k

TUCSON 5000: One of the fastest 5Ks in the West! This pancake-flat, fast USATF certified course provides the perfect opportunity for a 5K PR. This race has been a Tucson staple for over 20 years with 20+ of the current Arizona age records for the 5k being set at the Tucson 5000!

This race is part of The Running Shop SAR Grand Prix..

FitKidz MILE: Normally, we do the one mile race In honor of Mother's Day and call it "The Mother's Day Mile". Because we are moving this event to the fall this year we are changing this to a FitKidz Mile. Of course, you should all make sure to honor your Mother's every day!

Note: All adults are welcome to run with a child, regardless of being a biological parent or not.

Tank Top Shirts: Tank Top shirts will be given to 5k runners first, and then once the race starts, the mile runners can pick up their shirts. First come, first serve. Sizes not guarenteed.

Stickers: All participants in the Mother's Day Mile will receive a special sticker of the race logo while supplies last!
