Tucson's Fastest 5k

One of the fastest 5Ks in the West! This pancake-flat, fast course provides the perfect opportunity for a 5K PR. This race has been a Tucson staple for over 20 years with 27 of the current Arizona age records for the 5k being set at the Tucson 5000!

Proceeds from the event will benefit Pima Community College Cross-country Team!

This race is part of The Running Shop Grand Prix, produced by SAR.

Race Awards

High Quality Awards will be presented to age group winners in 5 year age categories.  Special prizes will be presented to Overall Male and Female Winners and Masters Male and Female top finishers.

1 Mile Race

In addition to the 5k, we are offering a 1 mile race/walk/kid’s run.  Guaranteed to be Fast and Fun!  The entry fee for this race is $10 and will be timed and accurate.  1 Mile registrants may purchase a T-shirt for $4.


Proceeds will benefit the Pima Community College Cross Country Teams.

  • Print Registration Form and mail it in. Registration by mail must be postmarked by Saturday, April 30, 2016.
  • Register online with a credit card at active.com.
  • Walk-in registration and packet pick-up will be at the Running Shop (3055 N. Campbell Avenue) from 10am to 2pm on Saturday May 7, 2016.
  • Race-day registration and packet pick-up will be at Ramada 14, Reid Park from 5.30 a.m. on race day. Please note that only cash or checks are accepted for payment.

Fast, flat, USATF-certified 5K course around Reid Park. There will be a water station at the halfway point.
